Reddit error message featuring atom smashers and the FBI made me smile today

I have previously written about (and screengrabbed) the Fail Whale, Technorati monster and other error messages - but today Reddit took it to a whole new level!

The page served during a Reddit service outage suggested a range of other sites that I might like to visit in the meantime (including the NSA and the FBI!) The Reddit error page also had a message saying that the 'LHC was more dangerous than everyone thought' and links to a Telegraph story today about the 'Large Hadron Collider atom smasher' (!!!!)

This is extreme geek behaviour, but it made me smile - I was actually pleased that Reddit didn't work at this time and can't wait for it to break again! Another lesson from the internet about how to prevent customer frustration, and actually increase loyalty, when a core service can't be delivered.
